If you find yourself whistling today...
there"s a good chance you are fondly remembering Ed Richter who was called home on October 16th, 2014 to be with our Heavenly Father. His Christ like service was so evident in his life as a dedicated Lutheran Educator, even in retirement.
He began his ministry in Taylor, Michigan in 1963, moved to Houston, Texas in 1967 and served as a teacher and then principal at Our Savior Lutheran School. In 1989 he began serving at Lutheran High North of Houston and although he retired in 2002 he was still actively involved as he continued to serve as a substitute teacher, bus driver, coach, mentor, lawn mower, maintenance man, etc.
In his strong desire to help students attend LHN,
Ed personally started a Scholarship Fund
that he was still contributing to faithfully. His family requests that if you would like to help continue his legacy and contribute to this scholarship fund, it would be appreciated. Please indicate your donation should go to the Edgar Roy Richter Endowment Scholarship Fund of the Lutheran Education Association of Houston.
He impacted many lives, is cherished by all he met, and will be truly missed until we are all reunited with him in heaven. He was a disciple of Christ, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, colleague, coach, principal, athletic director, and mentor.
He used his God given gifts to bring out those gifts in others.
