If you find yourself whistling today...
There is a good chance you are fondly remembering Ed Richter who was called home on October 16, 2014 to be with our Heavenly Father. His Christ-like service was so evident in his life as a dedicated Lutheran Educator, even in retirement.
He began his ministry in Taylor, Michigan in 1963, moved to Houston, Texas, in 1967 and served as a teacher and then principal at Our Savior Lutheran School. In 1989 he began serving at Lutheran High North of Houston and although he retired in 2002, he was still actively involved, serving as a substitute teacher, bus driver, coach, mentor, lawn mower, maintenance man, etc. In his strong desire to help students attend LHN, Ed personally started a scholarship fund, the Edgar Roy Richter Endowment Scholarship Fun.
He impacted many lives, was cherished by all he met, and will be truly missed until we are all reunited with him in heaven. He was a disciple of Christ, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, colleague, coach, principal, athletic director, and mentor.
He used his God-given gifts to bring out those gifts in others.
