Quidditch Australia, its directors, and its official events are covered by Public Liability & Products Insurance. All members of Quidditch Australia are also covered by Personal Injury & Accident Policy when participating in official QA events.
Events run by QA members can request to be covered by QA's Public Liabilty and Personal Accident Insurances by applying for the event to be sanctioned. Events for which you can apply for sanctioning include but are not limited to: fantasy tournaments, state league games and tournaments, fundraising and social events, and member club training and practices.
QA's Public Liabilty Insurance, which indemnifies the host against any damage done to third parties as a result of the event, covers all sanctioned events. A copy of our PLI Certificate of Currency will be provided, if requested, as proof of coverage.
QA's Personal Accident Insurance, which covers medical expenses and loss of income resulting from injury or disability incurred from the event, only covers sanctioned events in which all participants are registered QA members (playing, non-playing, or trial) and where adequeate first aid is present.
If you are applying for the sanctioning of a sporting event involving physical activity (that is to say, one that carries the risk of injury and for which you are requesting PA&I coverage), OTHER THAN a club training or practise, you must submit a confirmed attendance list and details of adeaquate first aid attendance confirmation at least 7 days prior to the event via this form.
If you have any further questions, or if you need sanctioning for an event at short notice, cannot meet any of our requirements, or have any other special needs or requests, please contact QA directly at events@quidditch.org.au.
