IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ :
Signing to a new label / releasing your own music?
One of the current practices with some aggregators and minor labels is that they will try to include "publishing services" as part of their recording / distribution deal.
That means they most likely sub-contract your publishing out to a third-party organisation and this is most likely a bad move for you.
If you are signing to a major label, they likely have an in-house publishing company that will provide all necessary publishing services but then you're likely to be a small fish in a very big pool!
With Maori Music, you're a name, not a number!
Bands / Duos
If all members of a BAND / DUO wish to cancel their contracts then ALL represented songwriters must submit their own individual cancellation request form/s and these must be from their own personal, unique email address otherwise just the contract relating to the person submitting the form will be cancelled.
We cannot accept cancellation requests from third-party representatives (Managers / Labels etc) on behalf of any client. The client/s themselves must submit their own cancellation request form/s.
Cancellation will take place within 28 days of the above date subject to our Standard Terms & Conditions and all registrations with PRS For Music will be amended accordingly.
If you are a writer-member of any other Performing Rights Organisation then you must amend any registrations with them yourself.
Cancellation is normally free of charge, however, a cancellation fee equal to £ 10.00 per title may be due if you wish to cancel before the expiration of your determined period of contracture.
We will notify you if this applies to you before actioning your request.
Submitting music for Sync Promo may extend your period of placement indefinitely on any songs selected for use, especially on distributed Compilation Albums / Solo Albums as these are not subject to any takedowns.
No cancellation request can be actioned if there is an unresolved dispute between the Publisher and the Songwriter.
