  • Common Sense Digital Citizenship: Cert. Educator

  • Thank you for your commitment to teaching students to be safe and responsible digital citizens! In order to become a Common Sense Digital Citizenship: Certified Educator, please fill out the following application. This application should not be filled out until you have met all of the criteria. Please do not apply if the work is just in the planning phases. You should wait until the digital citizenship lessons/modules have been taught. To meet the criteria, you must use Common Sense Education resources (although you may modify them to meet your classroom's unique needs). 

    This application will take 15-20 minutes to complete. You must complete the application in one sitting. You will not be able to save your application, so be sure to have all your information and documents ready to upload before you start.

  • We require that you submit two pieces of documentation.

    Examples include, but are not limited to:

    • A lesson plan or course syllabus including mention of and/or links to Common Sense resources.

    • A sample of student work in which concepts learned from Common Sense resources are evident.

    • A screenshot of your staff meeting where you are talking about digital citizenship.

    • A screenshot of your Digital Passport Student Group Summary or Student Group Overview.

    • An email sent to your principal letting him or her know about your classroom efforts around digital citizenship.

    • A picture of digital citizenship posters posted in your school or dorm.

    • Add a screenshot of digital compass score.
