Thank you for your interest in our Training Program and for your desire to serve women of color and their families. We offer work-trade scholarships to help cover the cost of training for women who otherwise would not be able to take the training.
Must be at least 18 years old
Be a Person of Color
Household income under $25,000 (income verification required)
Be available for training dates, including orientation
Live in the area of the training.
Be available to work 10 hours per week at our DC location
Priority will be given to individuals with limited economic resources
Bilingual people, particularly Spanish, French, and Amharic speaking applicants, are encouraged to apply.
Work-trade scholarship recipients must commit to participating in the training at a significantly reduced fee in exchange for working a specified amount of hours with Mamatoto Village. If unforeseen circumstances arise and a recipient is unable to fulfill this commitment ultimately, repayment of the scholarship at a prorated amount is required. Mamatoto Village PHW training is reliant upon work-trade scholarship recipients fulfilling their hours or repaying the cost of their award so that we can continue the scholarship program. Before filling out his application, consider the commitment! You will be required to pay the materials fee. The work-trade scholarship is valued at $500-$1600.
