The experience If you"re a SUNY New Paltz student or looking for a new experience you can apply for the New Paltz Hostel Work Exchange Program. Work Exchange is a great opportunity to work and live in a friendly atmosphere where you can meet people from around the world. In exchange for 2 days of work from 2pm-10pm (16 hours a week in a variety of tasks - ranging from front desk to housekeeping) you"ll receive accommodations in our hostel. A 3 month commitment is required . Who Should apply? The New Paltz Hostel fills the Work Exchange program with energetic and motivated people. Diversity is encouraged. Students of hospitality, participants in work abroad programs, and people with interests in international travel, hostel management, and marketing are encouraged to apply. Length of stay A minimum stay of 3 months is required. Stellar participants can request additional months to stay. The New Paltz Hostel offers travelers a safe and comfortable place to stay. This job entails a lot of work including cleaning bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms, dishes, floors, shoveling snow and anything else the Hostel needs done. This is a very physical job so please understand before applying that you will need to be up for the challenge. *

You will be required to work 2 days a week from 2PM to 10PM. We are open for business 365 days a year including all HOLIDAYS. You will need to be flexible on days. If your Schedule changes and you do not have adequate availability your employment may be terminated. *

The Company recognizes that drug abuse affects our society at all economic levels and ages. Drug abuse in the workplace creates obvious problems. Employees who take drugs are less productive, are absent more frequently, are more likely to be involved in on-the-job accidents, and tend to have negative encounters with co-workers. Drug abuse causes other serious problems: it increases health care costs, takes extra supervisor and managerial time, increases incidents of criminal activity, and has an adverse effect on our public image.
