The Presbyterian Woman of Faith Awards will be given to women, including the laity, elders, diaconal ministers, missionaries and clergy, who are or have been diligent in contributing to the life and ministry of The Presbyterian Church in Canada and/or the community. They will be honoured because of faithful service, a specific accomplishment or a lifetime of achievement.
Up to three awards will be presented at the National Presbyterian Women’s Gathering in May 2020. Normally one award will be presented in each category. It is the nominator’s responsibility to decide under which category their nominee falls. The committee may contact nominators to discuss whether it would be more appropriate to place the nominee in a different category.
The successful candidate in this category will be someone who works tirelessly in her local congregation and/or community. She may serve behind the scenes. Her ministry is usually focused on her home congregation and community. The nomination form should provide details of the work and ministry of this individual and how it affects her congregation and/or community.
The successful candidate in this category will have envisioned and launched a specific accomplishment that the nominators wish to commend. Some examples might be: initiating a particular ministry in her home congregation or leadership in a mission or community project. The nomination form should provide details of the specific project/mission/ministry and the impact it has had on the church and/or community.
Lifetime of Achievement
The successful candidate in this category will have a broad body of work that spans the church. She will have been part of the ministry of the PCC in committees and courts at the local / regional / national / international level. The nomination form should list her lasting impact in the church through her mission and ministry within the life the PCC, in Canada or internationally.
