Scholarship Application
TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

There are five scholarships available to Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church members who are current high school seniors. All applicants will be eligible to receive any of the scholarships listed below. Each scholarship has separate criteria.

Watts Chapel Scholarship
- Base Scholarship and Additional Funds
- All applicants will receive the Base Scholarship
Queen Lewis Weaver Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Awarded to a female student with the highest-Grade Point Average (GPA) that will attend a four-year institution, community college or trade school.
- Scholarship award is $1000
Wright Agency Achievement Scholarship
- Awarded to a young male member with the highest GPA that will attend a four-year institution, community college or trade school.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
- Scholarship award is $2500
DesChamps Achievement Scholarship
- Awarded to a young male member for academic achievement and pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
- Scholarship award is $500

F. Statement of Life Essay
- Submit a 600-750 word essay choosing one of the topics below.
- Essay MUST be in 12 pt font and double-spaced.
- Essay MUST contain an intro, body, and conclusion.
- Include in the Header your NAME and TOPIC selected.
- Pages MUST be numbered.
1. In accordance with Jeremiah 29:11 describe why your Christian faith is important to your college education and future aspirations.
2. In accordance with Proverbs 3:5-6 how will your Christian faith impact your college experience?
