And that's it! Upon hitting submit, your information will be sent to us. Within 48 hours you should receive an email or phone call to confirm your scheduled appointment date.
When you drop your cat(s) off, we ask that you fill out the following information and tape it on your carrier(s).
Your Name:
Your Phone Number:
Number of Carriers (1 of 2, etc.)
Cat's Name:
Cat's Gender:
Coat Color:
All cats must be in INDIVIDUAL hard plastic carriers. I require hard plastic (not cardboard or fabric) so the cats don't escape during the trip, and I also want only one cat per carrier. This helps me keep count and keeps them safer as they wake up from the anesthesia medication that put them under for surgery. Please use a towel or newspaper in your carrier (a towel you don’t care about) in case your kitty pees! If your cat is scared it is a good idea to also cover the carrier with a light towel or blanket. I will bring extra carriers if you don't have one, but PLEASE bring your cat in a container and do not open your car door if the cat is not contained.
I will be driving a Gold Odyssey Van. Please be at our Thrift Store in Davis at the corner of Third and I at 6:15 AM. Please be on time!
Other information for you to know:
1. I will return all cats between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm at the Yolo County SPCA Thrift Store. The exact return time varies depending on when the clinic finishes and traffic. Make sure that you have someone who can pick the cat up and who will answer the phone number you gave me. I will give at least a 30-minute warning on when to meet me within that time range. This is done for the cats' own safety, especially in the hot summer months. Please be prepared to receive my phone call on the evening of the transport, so that we can avoid any hassle.
2. Adult cats should have all food removed by midnight the night before the transport. If you feed a nightly meal, feed it late (right around this time) so that the cat will not have to go quite as long before its next meal. This will be the last food it should get until I give the cat back to you in the afternoon the next day. While small kittens (under 4 months of age) can be allowed food until a few hours before you come to meet me, it is often easiest to remove their food as well. Water is okay all night for cats of all ages.
3. All cats should be brought inside the night before surgery. This is to ensure that they aren't eating neighbor cat food, or other tidbits, and also to ensure they don't figure out something is up and fail to show the next morning.
4. Call with cancellations ASAP! If you cancel at 10 pm the night before surgery, we won't be able to fill your spots, and not only do the spots get wasted, but the clinic ends up with financial problems (they must cut their money very very tight to offer such incredible rates).
We reserve the right to not schedule your cat on a future transport if you cancel last minute.
5. Payment must be in the form of cash or by bank card. Please have payment ready when you are dropping your cat off. Please have a list ready of the services you want and the costs so that we can double-check with you and make sure we mark the correct items. This is especially important if you are sending someone else to drop the cat off.
6. It is $60 for each cat to be spayed or neutered. You must request additional services if you would like to add them to your surgery, and you will need to pay extra for additional services. The services we offer are as follows: Rabies vaccination ($15) FVRCP vaccination ($15), FELV/FIV testing ($30), Microchip ($20), or Flea treatment ($20).
7. We always accept gas donations, though they are not required. If you have an extra dollar or two for gas, it is greatly appreciated.
8. Please Note - all kittens MUST weigh at least 2 lbs or more in order to be altered. If they are underweight, they may be turned away and the clinic may keep the money. Please weigh your kitten.
9. Please be aware that if Sacramento SPCA has questions that someone must be available to answer the questions. Otherwise, your cat may not receive services.
