• Chivalry English Springer Spaniel Questionnaire

  • Thanks for completing this questionnaire! At first glance, you might think "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" The answer is yes, because we care!  We carefully plan, invest, and then hand-raise all of our puppies in our home.  We love them, are committed to their well being and we care about their future.

Every family is different, and there are no right or wrong answers. Please be detailed!  Yes/No answers do not provide enough information to make decisions.  Every family has different needs, and this questionnaire helps us identify who needs what information and what homes make the best fit. If you're a veteran springer owner, we don't want to waste your time with things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy or first springer, we want to make sure you are prepared for what life with a springer may bring. So again, thank you!

    • Completing this application is the 1st step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Chivalry English Springer Spaniels, but it does not guarantee a puppy from this or any future litter.  We reserve the right to refuse any placement at any time.

If this application is approved, you'll receive an email with deposit instructions and a timeline on when puppies are expected/available. The timeliness of your deposit will decide your choice of puppies. Please note, If you make a deposit, you are committing to take a puppy from a litter, regardless of whether your gender/color preference is available. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the deposit is forfeited. We do the best to match preferences. You should review both the placement process, and deposit policies.

Puppies may be visited by their new families in person at our home when the puppies are approximately 8 weeks of age by appointment. Puppies are temperament accessed at 7-8 weeks of age which helps to determine their confidence, activity level, and suitability for different types of homes/families.  Puppies will be de-wormed, vaccinated, and checked for hereditary eye disorders at 8 weeks.  They may go to their new homes between 9-12 weeks pending growth, and development.  We are flexible with pickup dates, but cannot hold puppies for extended times, except for additional training fees; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe.

A bill of sale will be signed by both parties at puppy pickup.  The bill of sale will outline all health and temperament guarentees provided by seller and the buyers responsibilities.  We will not place a puppy without a signed bill of sale. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.

We require family pets be spayed/neutered at 9 months.  Show quality puppies are sold with co-ownership bills of sale.  No exceptions.  We have a return provision in our bill of sale. Any puppy from our home always has a home here, and will never be at a shelter.

Our family pet puppies cost $1800-$2000, and must be spayed/neutered.  Show/Breeding quality puppies are sold with co-ownership agreements for $2500. Puppies are reserved by 50% deposit, once a family is approved based on this questionnaire.
