Songwriting and Recording Club [SaRC] is for students who want to write their own songs or instrumental pieces and record them. In the fall, students will practice writing hooks, rhyming, using proper meter, and story-telling. In the spring, each student will take the best of what they wrote in the fall and go through the painstaking yet exhilarating process of recording. All vocals will be recorded by the students by the end of April when SaRC meetings end. The CD will then go into production and mixing and will be finished in time for the CD release party in May.
All students will receive a copy of the full CD, and several copies will go into the Music Room CD library, available to be heard by future Montessori Academy students.
In addition to the CD, SaRC members will have the opportunity to compose a piece to be performed by the 3rd level Recorder class.
SaRC is run by Mark Woodward. Mr. Woodward is a composer and producer with 8 years of experience in developing student creative and musical talent.
