Songwriting and Recording Club [SaRC] is just what the title implies, a club for students who want to write their own songs or instrumental pieces and record them. In the fall, students will practice writing hooks, rhyming, using proper meter, and story-telling. In the spring, each student will take the best of what they wrote in the fall and go through the painstaking yet exhilarating process of recording. All vocals will be recorded by the students by the end of April when SaRC meetings end. The CD will then go into production and mixing and will be finished in time for the CD release party, usually scheduled for 3:00 PM on the last full day of school. All students will receive a copy of the full CD, and several copies will go into the Music Room CD library, available to be heard by future Montessori Academy students.
In addition to the CD, SaRC members will have the opportunity to compose a piece to be performed by the 3rd level Recorder class.
SaRC is run by Mr. Woodward. Mr Woodward began writing songs at a young age and has experience in music production and recording.
