Spring 10-Week ASL Classes

American Sign Language (ASL) is a beautiful language that anyone can learn. Whether you're looking to pick up a new language or refresh your existing skills, we offer classes for both beginners and intermediate signers. I highly encourage you to sign up for a class.

Sunday and Wednesday classes will be held online using a video conferencing platform called Zoom. To participate, you will need a stable internet connection and a webcam. If you do not have access to this technology at home, you may be able to use computers available at your local library.

Monday classes will take place at Henry Ford St. John Hospital.

Tuesday classes will take place at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

Virtual courses are $50 per person

Please read the following information carefully and choose a class to enroll in. I recommend that you do not enroll in more than one class.

1. Beginner Level for Families of DDBHH (Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Children): This class is available to all family members, including aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. It focuses on foundational American Sign Language.

2. Beginner Level: This class focuses on general, foundational American Sign Language.

3. Intermediate Level: Participants in this class should know the alphabet (A-Z) and have basic fingerspelling skills in ASL. They should be able to express simple sentences in ASL.
