  • In order for us to be well prepared for your appointment and provide your pet/s quality veterinary care, we ask to have all previous veterinary medical history at least 24-hours prior to your appointment.  Otherwise, we need to reschedule your appointment.

    We are more than happy to do this for you, or you can simply contact your previous veterinarian and ask them to send a complete medical history to us via email at info@mainstayvet.com.  If you have hard copies of your pet/s medical records, not just invoices, you can email them or take a picture and text them to us at (703) 280-4588.

  • Appointments Missed

    Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment.  Clients that miss their appointments or do not give adequate notice will be considered a “no show.”  We understand that missed or cancelled appointments happen for a number of reasons and that some are unavoidable.  If we feel this policy is being abused, clients who miss more than one appointment may be subject to an office visit fee.

     Appointment Tardiness

    We make every attempt to see you close to your appointment time.  The doctors do however sometimes run late due to the nature of the medical industry.  Please call us if you are running late.  If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we will see if it is at all possible for you to be seen, but it may be necessary to reschedule an appointment.

    Payment

    Payment is due at time of service.  We accept all major credit cards and care credit.

    Prescriptions

    Please give at least 3 business days to refill necessary prescriptions.  The best way to request a refill is through our website or email.

    Surgeries & Dental Cleanings & Sedation Procedures

    A deposit of $300 is required to reserve your pet’s surgery, dental or sedation procedure date and time. Please notify us a minimum of 72 business hours in advance for canceling these procedures. Mainstay reserves the right to charge a $300.00 cancellation fee if we are notified less than 72 business hours prior to the procedure.

    Monday- Friday: 8am - 6pm

    Saturday: 8am - 4pm

    Sundays: Closed

    Holidays: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas
