Teen Staff Information

Family Camp at Camp Koinonia is a week-long Catholic family retreat. Teen Staff volunteer to provide service to the families on retreat under the direct supervision of adult directors. Teen Staff can receive written documentation of their service time for this retreat. Teen Staff report to Camp on Saturday afternoon by 2:00 PM and vacate Camp on Friday afternoon by 1:00 PM. Teen Staff may drive themselves to Camp but cannot use their vehicles during the retreat and must remain on Camp property at all times. Teen Staff must be of high school age or older and provide references as called for in the application. Each Teen Staff is asked to sign and adhere to the Teen Staff Code of Conduct.

Please check the weeks you would like to staff:

*Applicants are strongly discouraged from staffing the same week that their family is attending.

*Staff are limited to 2 non-consecutive weeks at this time. If additional staff are still needed as of June 1st, teens who are interested may be asked to serve 3+ weeks.

If you have never before staffed at Family Camp, please provide two references (not relatives) who can verify your ability to work with children.

I certify that the above information is correct. In case of illness or accident, I give permission for transportation in privately owned vehicles for medical emergencies only, and for the release of medical records to an attending health worker.

I understand that every effort will be made to contact the parents/guardians. If one cannot be contacted, I hereby give permission for a qualified physician to secure proper treatment for my child.

Teen Staff Code of ConductI am aware that:  The volunteering of my time is for the service of God and families, and the ministry of Camp Koinonia.  No camp-wide event is optional for the teen staff. Staff must attend all family events, camp wide activities, and teen staff meetings.  I am also aware that if I violate any of the following rules, it will result in my immediate dismissal from Camp Koinonia:1.    I will not possess or use alcohol, tobacco products, or illegal drugs of any kind. For alcohol or tobacco use, I understand that I will call my parents/guardians and I will be sent home. I understand that the law enforcement officials and my parents/guardians will be called if I am found in possession of illegal drugs of any kind or amount.2.    I will honor the curfew. If I am out after curfew, I will be sent home immediately. (There will be times that I may be out of my cabin after curfew with the permission of the Program Directors or Spiritual Directors.)3.    I understand that I am a role model for the younger children at camp. My clothing will be appropriate. My behavior will reflect positive values and attitudes. If I demonstrate destructive behavior, negative attitudes, or cease to be a positive influence with those whom I work with or serve, I understand that I will be sent home.4.    If my behavior fails to support the goals and mission of Family Camp at Camp Koinonia; the Spiritual Directors, and Program Directors, in consultation, reserve the right to dismiss me from my duties as Teen Staff. I have read the above code of conduct and I fully understand what is expected of me as Teen Staff.
