Summerville Skates Ice Attendent
Summerville DREAM operator of Summerville Skates is looking for a seasonal part time employees to join us this winter season!
We are a seasonal temporary outdoor ice rink located at 208 S. Cedar Street, Summerville SC open from mid November through early January. The perfect candidate loves working with guests, is self-motivated, and comfortable working in a busy atmosphere while working outside in different winter weather.
Duties of the position include, but not limited to, renting skates, helping with concession service, light snow removal (if needed), and ice machine cleaning operations, guest services, dealing with a large volume of participants, point of sale operations, and basic computer skills.
Customer experience is a plus, ice skating rink experience not required.
Shifts vary, with weekday, evening, weekend, holiday, early morning and late night shifts. We are a community organization with very clear business operations and return on investment goals. We want our crew to be happy and love coming to work and that they participate in the overall success of Summerville Skates.

Job Skills and Task
Customer service – ticket sales, customer intake, review rules and regulations, ability to communicate written and verbally
Safety – assist with skate rental, monitor rink use and provide assistance for customers on the ice
Custodial – clean restrooms, organize ice skates, clean equipment and general facility updates
Security – enforce rules and regulations, follow established work rules/procedures
Maintenance – ability to clean the ice (with hand tools and ice machine), work on general repairs for the rink, work late nights & early morning to resurface ice
Other task as assigned – flexible to update different task without stress and accommodate organization needs
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities
Ability to function outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
Ability to pass First Aid and CPR test and preform skills as needed
Ability to follow instructions effectively and to work with minimum supervision in a responsible and competent manner; to readily accept directions from those in a supervisory capacity; to be able to accept constructive criticism without resentment
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees; deal courteously and clearly with the public; demonstrate good judgment, tact and courtesy
Ability to perform in high stress situations
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test as assigned
Ability to lift at least 50+lbs and work a minimum of 12 continuous hours
Ability to work throughout the season and succeed staff training
Must possess a clear speaking voice and the ability to communicate.
This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, run, skate, walk on ice, perform lifesaving techniques and stand; reach with hands and arms; speak, hear and see. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, glide or climb. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to “crowd size”
