Museum Access Consortium (MAC) is an association that regularly hosts professional development workshops and offers a network of mutual support to help practitioners engage with disability advocates and people who have disabilities to learn about, implement, and strengthen best practices for access and inclusion in cultural facilities of all types throughout the New York metro area and beyond. Thanks to a generous grant from the FAR Fund, MAC is embarking on a three year project to understand barriers to participation, both as visitors and employees, for adults with autism, and to create resources and support to increase accessibility for this population.
The first step in this process is to survey cultural professionals to better understand their programs, resources and ambitions. MAC will create a report based on the results that will be shared widely and used to shape the future of this project. The responses you give will only be reported in aggregate and are for use by the Supporting Transitions program of the Museum Access Consortium only. These questions are intended to collect baseline information about your organizations knowledge of and experience with individuals with autism. Thank you again for your participation in this project. If you have any questions, please email the Supporting Transitions Project Leader, Aliza Greenberg, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
