Because of the high ethical standards to which legal and business professionals are held, the failure to disclose an act or event is often more significant, and leads to more serious consequences, than the act or event itself. Failure to provide truthful and complete answers, or failure to notify the Admissions Office of any changes in your answers, may result in revocation of admissions or disciplinary action by law school.

Submit academic transcripts from your law school and/or colleges/universities. Do not list secondary schools or institutions from which you received non-degree certificates. You must include OFFICIAL transcripts from every year in which you attended your degree program(s) for each program that you list below.

Applicants must include English translated and independently evaluated copies of their transcripts to demonstrate equivalency to the U.S. grading system and complete their applications. Other independent evaluation services are also available. If you obtain translation and evaluation services from an organization other than LSAC, you may attach scanned official copies of your translated and evaluated transcript. When getting your transcripts, emphasize to the evaluator that the best wording for the equivalency is "first degree in law."

You can submit your application prior to the evaluation. The application will NOT be reviewed by admissions until the evaluated transcript is received.

Thomas Jefferson School of Law will evaluate your application based on your educational and professional records and your commitment to attaining the specialized education and skills that the law school provides. For non-native English speakers, your language proficiency test scores will be an important factor in our assessment of your application. After your application is complete, we will schedule an interview with the program director to determine jointly whether Thomas Jefferson’s LLM program is appropriate for you.

If you are accepted, we will notify you by e-mail and you will have 30 days from the date of that e-mail  to submit a non-refundable seat deposit. If the deposit is not timely submitted, we reserve the right to revoke your offer of admission. If your admission is revoked, you may reapply at any time without penalty. Applications will be kept on file for one year from date of completion.

After you are admitted, you are invited to contact the program director to plan your course of study. Core law courses are offered at least once a year. But some elective courses are not. It is important to plan carefully in advance to maximize the benefit of your educational experience.

Registration each semester is a formal written procedure that represents both an academic and financial commitment. You will be notified of a deadline to register for classes and pay tuition for each semester about one month before the new semester starts. To be officially enrolled at the law school, you must pay your tuition before each semester’s courses begin. If you register late, you will not be able to take classes that have been filled by students who registered on time. And payment after the deadline will subject you to late fees.  

Accessing a course, course materials, and faculty neither constitutes official course registration nor good standing. All prior balances must be cleared before students are permitted to register for a current term. The financial obligations that a student incurs through registration remain, unless the student officially withdraws from the courses during the refund period. If a student withdraws during the refund period, he or she is entitled to a refund based on the official working day on which a withdrawing student’s withdrawal forms are received by the law school.
