Pregnancy and childbirth are normal life events in a healthy woman. It is my belief that birth belongs to the family and each family has the right to choose the environment they feel is safest for mom and baby. It is my desire to facilitate an environment which supports women and families rather than imposing artificial interventions or attempts to make birth conform to a specific timeline. Regardless of where or with whom you give birth, you are ultimately responsible for your birthing experience. I am available 24 hours a day. If at any time, you or a loved one has questions or concerns it is extremely important that we discuss them. Communication is a vital component to our midwife-parent relationship.
Extensive research, collaboration, and experience have taught me many lessons about healthy birth. I strive to help women maintain a healthy pregnancy through nutrition, supplementation, and emotional and spiritual wellness. I treat women holistically and preventatively whenever possible. I use non-allopathic treatments (herbs, nutrition, chiropractic care, etc.) prior to medical intervention. I believe that most obstetric complications can be prevented through good prenatal care and counseling. Pregnancy is generally a state of wellness. Women that are given the opportunity to give birth without inhibition and interference do very well and seldom require intervention. As your midwife, I educate, counsel, and facilitate birthing families during the normal childbearing year: the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods.
As with all health care situations you should always require true informed consent prior to agreeing to any intervention. My job is to guide, counsel, and assist you along the way.
