CDW is an annual expo/event powered by Designopia ;For designers and people engaged in most of the creative industries ,to create a regional hub for our local designers tohelp them achieve our creative industry mission, and engagement with the international scene . CDW will be taking place this year at the Family Park – New Cairo as our main venue with Bibliotheca Alexandrina as one of the organizing partners .

Cairo Design Week (CDW) is now giving the opportunity to design enthusiasts to work as unpaid ushers "volunteers" to conduct needed work across the various operational aspects of the event. By volunteering, you become an active partner in the operation of this event with a strong global appeal. It’s also an excellent opportunity to get involved with a professional designers and creative industry master minds.

Volunteers who complete their obligation to CDW are entitled to:-

• Receive 2 invitations to allow your friends and family members to attend the event.
• Wonderful networking opportunity to meet new people and make friends with other creative people who appreciate volunteering and social/cultural events.
• Certificate of Appreciation signed by the Design Week Chairman/President and Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
• Two breaks and one food meal voucher for each volunteer during the festival.
• On-site training by Family Park’s operation team.

What is expected of me as a volunteer?

• You will be expected to arrive on time at the day of the event.
• Following the organization’s policies and procedures, Following instructions from your direct supervisor and remain dedicated to your responsibilities until the end of the assigned volunteering shift.
• Being a very visible and ‘frontline’ part of the CDW team.
• Maintaining the confidential information of the organization.
• Meeting time and other commitments as agreed but when unable to do so to give reasonable notice so that other arrangements can be made.
• Some of the volunteers working at the event might not have the chance to watch the shows while on duty.
• Providing references and to agree to checks under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, as required.
• Return any loaned equipment when ending my volunteering.
• Volunteers must behave in a highly professional manners at all times while on duty, especially in the presence of guests, designers and event participants.
  Performing my volunteering role to the best of my ability.

* You must be over the age of 16* Speaking Arabic and English well. Knowledge of other languages is highly valued.
