How to measure for a violin

To select the correct size violin, measure the player's arm length using a retractable tape measure (or a yard stick). Measure the length between the player's neck and middle of their left-hand palm when the hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to the body (not reaching, but not bent). If there is any doubt, or if your child is in between sizes, choose the smaller size violin.

If size is not listed, then we are out of stock on that size violin.

Violins are size specific to the student. MAKE SURE TO MEASURE!

Instrument Return & Instrument Value

Joel Smith Music does hereby agree that if said Lessee desires to and does return such merchandise to Joel Smith Music at any time in as good as condition as when received by the Lessee, normal wear and tear excepted, then all sums paid thereunder shall be retained by Joel Smith Music as reasonable rent for such period and no further payments shall be made by Lessee and there shall be no further liability to the Lessor, however Lessee agrees he or she will keep said instrument in a careful manner, and that he or she will assume full responsibility for the instrument and if the instrument is unreasonably damaged, lost or stolen, he or she will pay the amount of the repair of such damage or replacement as determined by Joel Smith Music. Replacement Value is $500.00.

Replacement of strings and/or rosin is the responsibility of the Lessee.

It is understood and agreed that the merchandise shall remain the property of the Lessor. In the event of any default by the Lessee, Lessee shall pay unto Joel Smith Music, reasonable attorney’s fees incurred in resultant collection proceedings.

Lessee warrants that the address given is his or her address and is the place where the merchandise will ordinarily be kept and if that changes he or she will give Lessor immediate notice. Lessee agrees that he or she will not move the merchandise out of the state of Maryland without prior written approval of the Lessor. Lessee agrees that the Lessor has been permitted to verify and identify , residence, financial responsibility and any other information prior to the completion of agreement.

Lessee hereby acknowledges receipt of a copy of the above disclosure containing all the information pertinent to this transaction.
