Scenario: IT'S GETTING CLOSE TO PICK-UP TIME AND YOU'VE RETURNED TO YOUR CLASSROOM WHERE THE KIDS ARE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS AND GOING CRAZY FROM THE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES YOU JUST GAVE THEM!! PARENTS WILL SOON START TO ARRIVE AND YOUR CO-INSTRUCTOR IS HAVING A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN IN THE VAN! DOMINIC AND TREVOR ARE PLAYING "NINJA FIGHTER" AND TERRORIZING THE GIRLS, GABBY IS POURING PAINTS ONTO HER LATEST MASTERPIECE (her shoes), BROCK IS QUIETLY CRYING IN THE CORNER (again) AND JAMES AND FERN ARE HAVING A SCREAMING CONTEST!!!! Scenario: The Academy is deeply rooted in outdoor and adventure education. As a new instructor you are excited to share your extensive and impressive background in rock climbing, mountain biking, mountaineering and river running with your soon-to-be Academy students. It is Session One staffing time and you've just been assigned your new co-instructor and upcoming two week program of 'Fairies and Unicorns' for 6 and 7 year olds. Walk us through your preparation for this program as well as your perfect 'Fairies and Unicorns' day:
The Academy is ultimately about having fun, general brouhaha and professional hullabaloo. We promote impromptu adventures, getting dirty and discovering the unique places and people that come from doing so. We believe in the power of wild places, the rejuvenation of quiet moments spent in awe and the renewal found in rumpus and riotous dances around campfires. In the spirit of using words to describe why you are excited to possibly share who you are with the Academy, please create a Haiku to do so:
