This Year's Theme: Hope
Hope: to desire, to wish, to want, to anticipate for better things. Hope is that little ray of light in the back of your mind-- that emotion that evokes smiles and inspiration. Hope is different for everybody; it is something that is deep, personal, and cherished. Hope is also the same for everybody; it is shared with intensity and complete abandon-- countries divided by oceans are banded together by the drive that only hope can bring. This year’s theme is meant for you to express what your idea of hope is. In this time and day, it is more important now than ever to cherish this feeling of better tomorrows, happy days, and smiles upon faces. We must remember that hope is everywhere. It resides in school, at home, in the city, and out in the country. We must remember that hope is diverse and intricate. It can be completely irrational or profoundly realistic. It can come from something that generates hope, something that you hope for, or something that you feel when you describe hope. Whatever you glean from the word “hope”, we invite you to share your findings with the world. After all, hope is the desire to wish, to want, and to anticipate for better things. Beautifully complex yet amazingly simple, hope unites people in a way that is unparalleled in this world. What does hope make you think of?
