The FSPA Foundation Committee is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to students.
Scholarships will be awarded to need-based students to enable them to attend the FSPA 2017 State Convention, April 27-29. Only one student per school may apply, and this must be the student’s first time attending the convention. Completed applications must be submitted online to FSPA by Feb. 20, 2017.
Student selected for the scholarship will have their $90 convention registration waived. Foundation Scholarship recipients must agree to devote two hours of volunteer time in the FSPA convention office.
The awards are selected by a committee of FSPA staff and educators. The FSPA office will notify students and advisers selected for the award by in early March.
Students must have been on an FSPA-member staff for at least one year.
Students must have a 3.0 minimum grade point average.
Only one student per school is permitted apply.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY:
A letter of nomination from the student’s adviser recommends the student and that verifies the student’s financial need. See below for space for adviser to input his/her letter of recommendation and nomination.
An essay from the nominated student addressing: What my scholastic journalism experience means to me (should not exceed 250 words). See below for space for the student to enter his/her essay.
We strongly urge you to prepare the student essay and nomination letter in advance so you can cut and paste it into this form. This form cannot be partially completed and saved for further revsisions.
