Eating Jewishly in the 21st Century: The Jewish Food Movement and the Tale of Three Goats
Nigel Savage founded Hazon 15 years ago, with a dual mission - catalyzing the Jewish community to respond to the contemporary challenge of environmental sustainability and using that process to renew Jewish life in profound ways. Hazon has grown in every subsequent year, and today has a wide range of programs which utilize food, the outdoors and the environment to create a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community, and a more sustainable world for all. Nigel has twice been in the Forward 50, and this year was awarded an honorary doctorate by JTS. Please join us for this interactive learning session in which he'll reflect on some of the ways that JOFEE - Jewish Outdoor, Food & Environmental Education - is capable of providing profound new frames for Jewish life.
