The seventh annual Stowe Story Labs will be held September 7 - 10, 2019. Application season will not open until mid-winter, however we take out of season applications as noted in the pay section below.
About Stowe Story Labs:
We are a nonprofit dedicated to helping emerging screenwriters, filmmakers and creative producers get work made and seen. The Fall Lab is held annually in September at Stowe, Vermont's Helen Day Art Center, located in the heart of the village of Stowe. Details about the program and agenda can be found here.
We work to keep the cost of programming as low as possible. The 2019 fee to attend the four day lab is not yet set. It will be set in February. It includes all content and some meals. Lodging is separate and is offered through our lodging partners, who all offer deep and meaningful discounts to lab participants (and most include breakfast ....).
We offer several fellowships, which cover the fees to attend the labs (and in some instances lodging as well as other benefits). Please check the website for information about each fellowship. You do not need to make any separate application to be considered for a fellowship. Just click 'yes' when asked and we will consider you for all fellowships you qualify for. You can of course mention what fellowships you are most interested in (and why you are a good candidate for a fellowship) in your answers below.
We also offer limited partial scholarships. Again, there is not a separate application process for scholarships.
If you are admitted to the Fall Lab you are automatically considered for our other programming, which include Writers' Retreats; ongoing, structured mentoring; and other programs.
Please note we do not provide feedback on projects through our submission process.
Thank you again for taking the time to apply and best of luck in the process.
