OSU requires all non-OSU vendors or contractors, and those using University facilities, to have in effect a Commercial General Liability insurance policy with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence. The insurance must be issued through an insurance company licensed to do business in the State of Oregon with an A.M. Best rating of not less than A-VII.
A certificate of insurance is required. OSU should be listed as additional insured with the following wording: Oregon State University, its officers, board members, employees and agents are included as additional insured.
If insurance is needed, one option available is a Tenants’ and Users’ Liability Insurance Policy.
Alcohol: All events with alcohol are required to register through Risk Management.
Fire Safety: It is your responsibility to make sure your event is safe and meets the Uniform Fire Code Permit Requirements. No flames (such as candles) may be burned without written permission from the fire marshall.
Emergency Preparedness: Please take efforts to develop an emergency preparedness plan for your event.
