Residents interested in serving as a volunteer on Broomfield’s Historic Landmark Board are asked to complete this application and submit it to the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018. You may attach extra pages to the application if you need additional space in answering the questions below. You may also attach a resume, if you wish. Applicants will receive a confirmation email with a link to schedule an interview online. Interviews will be conducted as needed on one of the evenings of February 22, February 28, and March 1, 2018, with additional evening interview dates as needed. Official appointments will be made at a public meeting of the City Council on March 13 or March 20, 2018.
Meeting Schedule: The Historic Landmark Board meets at least quarterly, or monthly as needed, at 6:00 p.m.
Purpose: The Historic Landmark Board proposes criteria for review of historic resources; reviews properties nominated for designation and makes recommendations; advises and assists owners of historic properties; develops and assists in public education programs; reviews applications and issues certificates of historic appropriateness; pursues financial assistance for preservation and history-related programs; maintains records and files; develops a checklist of activities required for receiving a historical landmark tax rebate; identifies and implements other incentives for owners of historic properties; issues certificates of recognition and authorizes plaques for historical landmarks; fosters civic pride and awareness of Broomfield’s unique heritage.
