  • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., founded in 1913, is a public service organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of communities throughout the world.  The organization currently has 1000 collegiate and alumnae chapters in the United States, England, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and the Republic of Korea.  Global service projects include:  The Delta Sigma Theta Elementary School in Cherette, Haiti, The Delta House in Swaziland, Southern Africa, and Mary Help of the Sick Mission Hospital in Thika, Kenya. The proceeds from this event will benefit The Delta House in Swaziland. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Atlanta Alumnae Chapter is now accepting applications for its 2016 International Film Festival.

     

    Eligibility

     

    Films must have been completed since 2012.

     

    The principle message of the film must be international in scope.

    More than one entry may be submitted; however each entry must be accompanied by a separate submission form, entry fee, color JPEG publicity photo, 250 word synopsis of the film and URL link, where applicable.

    Foreign language films must have English subtitles and be submitted in the NTSC format.

    Participants are encouraged to submit private YouTube links, however DVD submissions will be accepted, but will not be returned. Submission of the entry form certifies that you are the rightful owner of the submitted work and own all rights and releases necessary for public screening. All legal clearances and releases including, but not limited to talent, music or stock footage are the responsibility of the filmmaker. The submitted film is not subject to litigation and is not threatened by litigation. If selected, you agree to provide a final exhibition DVD no later than March 18, 2016.

                                                                                                               

    The submission of your film gives the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. permission to promote your film using video clips, still images, or audio through a variety of media, as deemed necessary by the Festival.

    AAC/DST is not responsible for damage to or loss of any submitted materials in route to the Festival. The sender is responsible for all shipping costs (including customs and delivery fees).

    • Short Film ~ Under 30 Minutes
    • Documentary Feature~ 30-75 Minutes
    • Documentary-Short ~ Under 30 Minutes

     

    Entry Fee:

    $25.00 Regular Submission – By February 29, 2016

    $50.00 Late Submission – By March 15, 2016

    Each entry must consist of two (2) DVDs of the film, clearly marked with the film title, or a private YouTube link, running time, submission category, contact name, telephone number, and e-mail, as well as the Submission Form.
