1. Lesson preparation prior to instruction is evident.
2. Teacher is able to manage materials to transition from one activity to the next.
3. Lesson begins within 2-3 minutes of designated time.

Guess Who - 8. Teacher keeps PCCs out of sight and says the sounds.. (10-15 PCCs)
9. Children repeat sound ands and write, air-trace and/or name the letters or characters.
Word Sort -10. Children take turns placing Word Cards under the related PCCs.
11. After a child sorts a word, he or she points to all the words in the column for the class to read.
12. Teacher and children may play Word Sort Game earning points as they sort.
13. Teacher may guide children in rereading the words a few times to increase fluency with Tractors,Trains, Planes, and Helicopters activity.
Story - 14. Teacher introduces the story.
15. Teacher reads the story to the class
16. Teacher and children discuss the story.
