"You can use this online process to declare a lost/stolen/damaged RYA Course Completion Certificate issued originally by ScotSail, and order a replacement.

It costs £39.00 per replacement RYA Certificate and it takes up to 28 days to receive it from the time you submit your application.

The fee includes the cost of making the necessary searches to verify your identity and that you are the original holder of the RYA Certificate, as well as notifying the RYA, producing your new certifcate and despatching it via Royal Mail Service.

You cannot use this service to replace:

• Certificates Not Issued Originally By ScotSail;
• RYA/MCA Certificates of Competence (e.g. Yachtmaster®);
• RYA/MCA VHF Radio Licence (SRC);
• RYA ICC International Certificate of Competence;
• RYA/MCA Commercial Endorsements;

This online application takes around 4-8 minutes to complete.   You will need:

• Your name, address, DOB & contact details;
• Government-issued photo-I.D. (e.g. passport or drivers' licence) (only for RYA Photo-I.D. Certificates)
• Information to assist in locating your RYA Record;
• £25.50 Application Fee via Credit/Debit Card.

Please note that the RYA only introduced their Online Central Certificate Registration Hub in recent years, and certificates issued before this may take SIGNIFICANTLY longer to locate, or it may not be possible at all, if paper records are not available or have been moved to off-site long-term storage facilities. You are responsible for the safe-keeping of your RYA Certificates and we cannot guarantee that a replacement can be issued by us if we cannot locate the correct information.

You must submit this form for each replacement RYA Certificate you wish to order.

Note: From 2011/12 the RYA began to keep a central record of some RYA Certificates, including Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper & PowerBoat Level 2.    RYA Recognised Training Centres are not obliged to keep records of other RYA Certificates indefinitely, nor to record electronically the outcome of your attendance on any RYA Course.   The RYA restrict our access to the past 90 days.   If you are applying for a replacement of a non-registered RYA Course Certificate, you may need to provide us with additional information to help us locate your RYA Course booking record, and evidence of successful completion.

This may include approximate dates and location you took your RYA Course, vessel name, RYA Instructor name, copies of logbook entries, booking details, or any other information to support your application.

Once you submit your application details, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your Replacement Certificate Application Number (RCAN).   We will conduct the necessary checks to verify your RYA Certificate and send you the invoice to pay your £39.00 Replacement Certificate Fee, and despatch the replacement to you normally within 28 days.    If we need any further information to process your application, we will use the contact details you have supplied.
