Note: this form can be quite lengthy depending on the ammount of Source Media that requires restoration. Each media type is limited to a maximum of 5 pieces on this form. Make a note in the "Additional Considerations" section if you require more pieces of a type of media to be restored.
One time service fee per Reel to Reel Tape: $20
Every hour past the first half hour spent on Transfer and Basic Services: $20 per hour
One time service fee per DAT Tape: $12
One time service fee per VXA Tape: $12
One time service fee per Cassette Tape: $10
One time service fee per Vinyl: $7.50
Basic Services Included:
Normalization: Loudest track will be normalized to -1dB, others will be selectivley matched, resulting in the final delivery format soundling like a coherent album.
Strippling Silence: Silence will be stripped and fades will be added to the beginnings and ends of tracks.
Splitting and Naming Tracks: Tracks will be split and named according to the track sheet or appropriate information. Information will be imbedded to the ID3 tags on .mp3 files.
Web Upload: We will upload your files for immediate download regardless of your chosen final delivery format.
If you would prefer a Pure Transfer without basic services included, click "Yes" on the Pure Transfer button. You will receive a single track representing a 1:1 transfer from the source media on your selected final delivery format.
Additional Paid Services:
Enhanced Transfer: Compression, limiting, and EQ will be applied to enhance and polish the original tracks as desired.- $15 per track up to 10 tracks. Each track past 10 will be $10.
Noise Reduction: Pops, clicks, signal noise, etc. will be removed to the extent at which the original audio remains unaffected. Samples upon request.- $15 per track up to 10 tracks. Each track past 10 will be $10.
Mastering: Tracks will be mastered by Jason Livermore.- See Blasting Room Studios | Mastering rates.
Physical Restoration: Cut tapes, broken DAT lids, warped vinyl, etc. will be repaired before transfer.- Minimum $15 per broken medium.
Archival Quality Packaging: After transfer, tapes and vinyl will be packaged in air tight bags with silicon gel packets.- $10 per piece.
Imbedded Album Art: Album Art, provided by you, will be imbedded into the ID3 tags of MP3 files.- One-time $5 fee per album.
Archival Storage: We will store all transfer data and pro tools sessions on our internal servers for future access. Remember, if your data isn't backed up in at least three places, it isn't backed up at all!- $.50 per GB (Highly recommended.)
Three (3) CD-R or DVD-R discs are included free with your project. Additional CD-R or DVD-R discs are $10 per disc.
Analog Safety is not available for Vinyl.
Standard insurance and tracking information will be included with all shipments. Additional insurance will be added to the final bill.
Initial quote will be delivered within 24 hours of notification via email, and will include an estimate based upon the combination of the following: one-time $25 set-up fee, selected source media, additional services, final delivery format and time estimated to complete project.
(Set-up fee + service fee + hourly rate + additional services + final delivery format = initial quote)
The Blasting Room requires a deposit of the Set-up fee plus total Service Fees up front before the project can begin. Once the project is begins, charges may accrue according to hourly rates or other services that may be required.
Physical Restoration Waiver:
While tape-splicing, cleaning, fixing warped vinyl, repairing a broken DAT lid, and other physical restorations are fairly routine, an unexpected hiccup can understandably occur at any time. Due to the nature of the worke, if such a hiccup were to occur you will be notified immediatley and not charged for the services related to the specified piece of media.
You, the client, hereby release, hold harmless, and indemnify The Blasting Room and its employees from liability of any nature arising from Physical Repair procedures, including loss or damage to the materials, loss of profits or business opportunities, or any other claims, actions or proceedings related thereto. Due to the nature of the process, we cannot guarantee a successful result.
Tape Baking Waiver:
Tape baking is a process by which old tapes are sent through a process of dehydration to alleviate "Sticky Shed Syndrome" that builds up over time and can cause the tapes to become unplayable. Tape baking is only temporary and simply allows us a windows of time to play and transfer the tapes.
You, the client, hereby release, hold harmless, and indemnify The Blasting Room and its employees from liability of any nature arising from Tape Baking procedures, including loss or damage to the materials, loss of profits or business opportunities, or any other claims, actions or proceedings related thereto. Due to the nature of the process, we cannot guarantee a successful result.
Standard turnaround for a project is 2 weeks from the date that we receive the Source Media to the time we ship your Final Delivery Format. However, physical restorations and tape baking can significantly increase the time requried to complete a project.
If you require the project to be complete faster than the standard 2-week turnaround; quote adjustments will be made accordingly.
