Mission Trip Commitment Agreement
(Required from all Families & Participants over 18 Years Old)
We want you and your team to have the best possible experience on this trip. We believe that if each person on the team commits to the following things you will all help to ensure a great team experience.
There will be team meetings before and after the trip. We have seen that participants have the best experience when they make every effort to attend all of these meetings. These meetings are necessary to prepare logistically for the trip, to ensure the spiritual readiness of each participant, to develop relationships among team members, and to keep healthy relationships with our partner organizations. I agree to make my best effort to attend pre and post trip meetings.
We ask all participants to personally give 25% of the trip cost up front. This enables us to make commitments to airlines and partner organizations. We have also found that the overall experience for teams is better when individuals are personally financially committed in this way.
In order for gifts to be deductible by the IRS, they must be donations to Lake Forest Church with the intent to support the mission trips of LFC. Trips are paid for out of Lake Forest Church’s mission trip fund. In addition to giving 25% personally, participants may fundraise and/or personally give into this fund so that the cost of their trip is fully covered. Excess funds raised will be used to support the work of LFC mission trips and our partner organizations. I understand that I am responsible to cover the cost of my trip, whether it be fund raised or payed personally.
There may be deadlines associated with fundraising so that we can make payments to airlines and partner organizations. We will make every effort to work with you under special circumstances, because we do not want finances to be a reason why you cannot go on a trip. Lake Forest Church does not guarantee a refund of any payments, even in the event that you elect not to go. I agree to take full financial responsibility for any nonrefundable cost regardless of whether I go on this trip. I understand the deadlines and agree to be responsible for the deadlines. If any of these deadlines are missed or late, I understand that this could affect whether or not I will be able to go on the trip.
In keeping with our desire for all Ministry Partners to GO on a cross-cultural mission trip, LFC will cover up to 25% of the cost for first-time participants, that is someone who has never been on an LFC trip in the past. So first time participants who do not raise the full cost of their trip will only be responsible for 75% of the trip cost. Returning participants are responsible for paying and/or fundraising 100% of their trip. If I am a first-time missionary, I understand that I am financially responsible for 75% of the trip cost. If I am a returning missionary, I understand that I am financially responsible for 100% of the trip cost.
