Providing a retainer fee equal to half the total amount of the ceremony event fee, secures JMK Notary & Services, DBA, JMK Weddings, calendar for the ceremony date selected above. The balance for the ceremony is payable any time prior to commencing the wedding, but preferably during the rehearsal, if applicable.
I/We, the client, agree to the following terms:
Provide a valid marriage license (i.e., not expired or prior to the valid date) with the
bride’s and groom’s proper picture and signature identification (i.e., Driver’s
License) presented to the officiant prior to the start of the ceremony.
I/We consent to the use of the Genesis 2:24 "becoming one flesh" model of a husband and wife to be used as a theme, and support the belief of a lifetime covenant marriage with biblical scripture reference(s) to enhance the God-centered personalization by the company showcasing the historical Christian faith establishment of the institution of marriage.
I/We, the client, agree to pay the remaining balance before the start of the ceremony.
Exact change is required for cash payments, as change is not provided. PayPal, check
or money order are accepted.
I/We, the client, agree to the non-refundable retainer policy, as the date(s) are immediately secured upon payment. This protects the business from any potential loss of income, it is not designed as a penalty to our valued clients. If changes are made by the client to the scheduled ceremony related event(s) that conflicts with other commitments, or the client opts to cancel service for any reason, there will not be any refund.
I/We, the client, understand that leaving dates, times, and add-ons undetermined is at my/our own risk. This will not reduce any costs associated with the packages as they are fixed and built in for the flat rate pricing menu.
I/We, the client, confirm receipt and thoroughly read the JMK Weddings Brochure pricing menu breakdown or was quoted via phone consultation.
I/We, the client, agree to provide basic background details to enhance personalization (i.e. favorite scripture, first time meeting). Ceremony drafts depend on the creativity of the script writer and the background details provided by the client. The “Couple Profile” and request for the engagement Web site with a couple photo included helps enhance the client experience and assists the company (officiant) in confirming identities. Any video and pictures of the ceremony may be used for marketing purposes and this agreement serves as notice to the client and permission granted to JMK Weddings.
I/We understand that once JMK Weddings is secured for a ceremony that the officiant’s calendar is updated accordingly to accommodate. A signed copy of this agreement is supplied with this electronic format and the client (bride and groom) are expected to maintain a record.
The Officiant may arrive within 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Earlier than 30 minutes may be requested by the client.
Attire requests, special item orders and the like must be granted at least 45 days advance notice, unless otherwise indicated in writing.
The couple is not responsible to pay the balance, if JMK Weddings cancels. In fact, the client could be due a partial 50% refund, if previously paid in full. The general refund time frame is within 60 days. The non-refundable retainer remains with the company, as long as, the cancellation is initiated by the client. Other reasons it can be retained by the company, but is not limited to fraud of some kind, a date, time shift or request(s) the company is unable to accommodate that is made known by the client after signing the agreement and collecting payment from the bride and groom or authorized agent.
The bride and groom waive their right to complain about the company or the officiant in an impolite manner. This agreement waives the right to attempt to collect damages concerning situations beyond the normal scope of the officiant’s control (i.e., an emergency, the weather, verifiable traffic delays, mechanical issues or an accident, verifiable illness like the flu that impacts performance). Furthermore, it limits any other attempts of damages to no more than 50% of the total fee for service agreed upon per this form. If travel has not commenced, the client may request a refund of up to the 50% balance amount. The refund may be paid via PayPal, check or money order, whichever is most convenient for the company.
The bride and groom agree to remain flexible to any legal officiant replacement option given when an emergency or other situation potentially arises beyond the normal scope of the officiant’s control.
Notifications of arrival, delay beyond 5 minutes or any other subjects may be transmitted via email, text, or phone.
