  • STUDENT NOMINATIONS FOR THE LONE STAR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

  • Education in Action relies on teacher nominations in order to provide outstanding students with information about the Lone Star Leadership Academy.  We invite you to visit our website to nominate your outstanding 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and/or 8th grade students. Students must obtain an 85 or higher grade point average, be involved in their community and/or school and demonstrate leadership ability.

    Students are not required to attend your school, and you can also request that other educators nominate on your behalf.

  • Thank you for your interest in our Lone Star Leadership Academy summer camps!

    We encourage and request that all staff members support Education in Action through student nominations. This helps spread the word about our Lone Star Leadership Academy summer camps to outstanding students and their families. This also ensures that we have a need for staff members throughout the summer.  You are welcome to apply if you have students to nominate or can ask an educator to nominate on your behalf.  If you have questions, please contact Rhonda Richardson at 817-562-4957, ext 103 or rrichardson@educationinaction.org

    Nominating Educators Receive:

    • Lone Star Leader Award certificates to recognize nominees at your school's end-of-year Awards Ceremony
    • This year's Lone Star Leader t-shirt when you nominate 12 or more outstanding students
    • This year's Lone Star Leader t-shirt AND a Texas-themed, insulated, 20-ounce waterbottle when you nominate 25 or more outstanding students
    • Invitation to represent your school on Education in Action's Board of Educators

    Each Nominee Receives:

    • A personalized Lone Star Leader Award Certificate of Recognition
    • An invitation to apply to join delegations of other outstanding young Texas leaders at a Lone Star Leadership Academy summer camp.

  • LONE STAR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY MANDATORY STAFF TRAINING

  • Education in Action holds a one-day, mandatory staff training each year before camps begin.  ALL staff members are required to attend. Compensation for training is $50.00.

    If you are unable to attend for any reason, please do not complete the application.  You are welcome to apply in future years.  Thank you.

    Mark ALL dates you are *available to work. 

    *You will NOT work all dates submitted, but your selctions give us a better idea of when and where you are "available" if scheduled for an interview and subsequently hired.  

    NEW hires are required to be available to work at least TWO camp weeks in ONE program location.

    Education in Action provides optional transportation for staff members between the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the Austin and Houston camp locations, with travel to camp on Sunday and return on Friday of each camp week.

  • Your work schedule will be decided after the completion of a successful interview.

    Selecting dates on this application does NOT constitute a commitment to work those specific dates until a contract is offered by Education in Action and signed by the applicant.
