  • Softball Players,

    We have immensely enjoyed the softball competition at the Tennessee Senior Olympics. You are a wonderful and inspiring group and we want to provide a tournament that is competitive and enjoyable for all.

    We want and need your input. This is your tournament. Many suggestions are submitted each year and the suggestions can be quite different. For example, some teams strongly desire practice or round robin games before starting an elimination portion of the tournament while some want to go straight into the tournament.   We would love to hear your ideas about location, format, participation and other factors.  PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO TAKE SURVEY.

    Note to 2015 Players

    Last year ended up being a difficult, rainy weekend for us. For those of you who may not have been satisfied with the outcome, we sincerely apologize. It is our desire to finish tournaments as smoothly as possible. Along with you, we get frustrated at scheduling changes, loss of fields, scrambling to let players and officials know, and the many other details that have to be addressed with rain.

    We are at the mercy of Parks and Recreation Departments and their fields. They make the difficult decisions concerning when and if the fields are safe and ready to use. Last year they all strongly felt that there were safety hazards during Friday night and all through Saturday of the Games (even though the sun was out Saturday). They know their fields best and we have to comply with their wishes. We know that this might have been a frustration for many and we again apologize.

    Some were questioning the rain date falling on Father’s Day. Because we are coordinating a week-long event with 19 sports and 1500+ people, we have to set up and execute all events during the high school dead period. We know that this was not ideal and it added to the weekend. We were saddened that some teams could not stay to play.

    All to say, we are preparing for and hoping for beautiful weather and that 2016 can be counted a success. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • 3. How many games a day do you feel your age group can handle?

  • 4. Would your team be interested in softball being held as a stand-alone tournament at another time of year?

  • 5. Would your team be interested in the possibility of another community besides Franklin hosting the tournament?
  • 6. LADIES. We understand there is another major tournament this June 2016 that conflicts with ours. Is your team planning to attend this other tournament? NOTE: our board will be discussing this matter but we are unsure if facilites and staff will be available to alter dates.
