  • Derwent Valley Elm Tree Register

  • Derwent Valley Council is well aware of the issues facing Elm trees in the area. We are developing processes to rid our trees of Elm Leaf Beetle, and are establishing the appropriate equipment to treat private trees. The approach adopted will be trunk injection which directly addresses the issue without affecting adjacent soils or vegetation.

By sourcing the equipment locally, and training our staff, we will be in a position to offer a cost effective service to owners of private elm trees wanting to eradicate the Elm Leaf Beetle.

Obviously, the more trees that are treated, the more effective the overall result will be throughout the District.

If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please register using the form below. We will then keep you informed of progress.

While our primary objective is to protect Heritage listed trees and other specimen trees on public land, we are pleased to develop this service for private tree owners at far less cost than interstate treatment providers.
