The Miss New Mexico Scholarship Organization will be conducting the Little Miss program in conjunction with the Miss New Mexico and Miss New Mexico's Outstanding Teen Pageants, June 16-18 on the campus of Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. This is a mentoring program for girls 4-12. The Little Miss particpants will not be judged.
This Program is designed to provide young girls the opportunity to have a positive mentoring experience that fosters self-confidence, poise, and stage presence.
The program includes a crown, sash, t-shirt, mentoring classes, photo session, and an autograph session with the current state titleholders.
Each Little Miss participant will be paired with a Miss or Teen Pageant Sister if she doesn't already have one. We encourage all Miss and Teen Contestants to reach out and find their very own little Miss to join them at the state pageant.
The Little Miss Participants will be introduced in the opening number and and will perform one additional group performance during the two preliminary performances and the two final competitions. They will also be presented with their big sister during evening gown competition. This is a great opportunity for young ladies to gain pageant experience and confidence.
Little Miss Participants will need a dress to wear onstage (your choice as to how fancy you prefer) The dress should fall between the knee and the ankle to avoid tripping or falling on stage. White, silver, clear or matching dress shoes should be secure when running or performing on stage. Comfortable rehearsal clothes including black legging and/or exercise shorts and tops with no embellishments. Tennis shoes/sneakers for rehearsals. No flip flops. Be sure to bring a sweater/jacket or warmups in case of inclimate weather. The Little Miss participants will be in the parade on Saturday morning and will wear the t-shirt provided with jeans and tennis shoes/sneakers.
