The Life Skills Program is part of our strategic plan for 2022-2024. The program was created to assist other providers, and nonprofits, and increase awareness and volunteerism within the Ronald McDonald House. Our “home-away-from-home” offers the tools to provide basic life and prosocial skills for independent living such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and social interactions as a volunteer. The program will be supervised by a University intern.
The Life Skills Trainer is responsible for facilitating engaging classes, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for the learner, evaluating skills, attending to the learner's challenges, organizing training materials, scheduling training sessions, and submitting timely reports to the management on progress. They will coach, motivate, and prepare participants with the skills necessary for independent living.
