The George Steinbrenner Memorial Maritime Scholarship Foundation was established in 2015. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to graduates of the "Maritime Technology" program of Jefferson High School and other public institutions in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The George Steinbrenner Memorial Maritime Scholarship assists individuals enrolling for post-secondary education leading to a career in the Maritime Industry; including, but not limited to two or four year academic programs at maritime academies, colleges or universities.
