  • Congratulations!

Chapters are the building blocks and heart of our movement. In your work building your chapter, you have embodied the ideals of the Aleph Zadik Aleph and the B'nai B'rith Girls.

You are taking it upon yourself to build our movement and for that, we are eternally grateful. It is an incredible milestone to celebrate your Temporary Charter. As part of this form, you will choose a name for your chapter based on a Jewish value, name of a previously folded chapter, or after a Jewish game changer z”l. Make sure that you and the founding members have agreed on your chapter name before submitting this form! Petitioning for your Temporary Charter is only one step in an ongoing process of chapter development, and you will agree to benchmarks within this form that your chapter will strive to meet in order to receive your Temporary Charter. We are excited to be your teammates every step of the way. As you move through this form, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. Send us a message at azabbg@bbyo.org and we’ll get back to you soon.

    Loyally,

The Grand Board of the Aleph Zadik Aleph
The International Board of the B'nai B'rith Girls

  • Petition for Temporary Chapter

  • Our Declaration

We, Brother Alephs/Sister BBGs, do hereby petition BBYO for a Temporary Chapter Charter. We certify that we have recruited the requisite number of members to receive our Temporary Charter and have demonstrated the minimum benchmarks required as a Start Up Chapter, including building awareness in our community, holding monthly programs, and encouraging attendance at regional conventions and events.

As members of BBYO, we promise to work together as a chapter to move towards our Permanent Charter through the following actions:

    • Adhere to BBYO Policies
    • Establish teen leadership roles
    • Own planning of at least 50% of meetings and programs
    • Recruit and onboard an advisor
    • Set and meet a membership goal to achieve consistent membership growth
    • Learn and use the MRIHA process and regularly update our prospect list
    • Plan a calendar for at a minimum, the next three months, using the MRIHA funnel
    • Host a minimum of two chapter events or meetings per month
    • Utilize program planning forms when planning chapter events
    • Track attendance at programs (U.S. regions should use MyBBYO)
    • Participate in movement initiatives (at a minimum, Chapter Kickoff, Global Shabbat, and J-Serve)
    • Use membership books, pins, and cards
    • Run our first Inductions Ceremony
    • Encourage attendance at summer experiences and IC
    • Participate as a chapter in LTI/Execs experiences
    • Build our social media identity
    • Draft our chapter constitution
    • Make a plan for our first teen-led elections

We are honored to pursue this Charter and continue building the International Order.
