PIER Travel Grant Application 2016

PIER is pleased to offer travel grants on a competitive basis for members to participate in NAFSA conferences. These conferences provide an opportunity for international educators to acquire and exchange information and are an excellent way to begin building a personal network of contacts in the field of international education.

Travel Grant Information

PIER will award two $250.00 travel grants to attend the 2016 NAFSA annual conference in Denver, Colorado to support registration, travel and lodging expenses.

Eligibility

Applicants must be current San Diego PIER members or become a member prior to submission of this application.

Travel Grant Recipient Responsibilities

PIER requires each individual who accepts the PIER travel grant to present a 15 minute or longer presentation to the PIER members on Friday, June 28, 2016. The PIER board will provide full details and requirements to award recipients.

Required Documents

Statement of Objective (one page only)

Please provide a personal statement of objective which highlights the nature of your work in international education, what you hope to achieve by participating in the NAFSA annual conference and how your attendance will benefit you and your institution.

Letter of Recommendation (one page only)

Please provide a letter from your supervisor, program coordinator, manager or student advisor which includes their support of your attendance at the NAFSA annual conference as well as your contribution to international education at your institution or organization. The letter must also indicate any financial support from your institute or organization is providing.

Travel Grant Funds Distribution: Following the June 28, 2016 PIER presentation and within 30 days of receipt of your complete PIER travel grant reimbursement form.

PIER Membership Status

All recipients of the PIER San Diego NAFSA annual conference travel grants must be current PIER members for the 2015-2016 membership year. If you are not currently a PIER member, please sumbit your complete PIER application and $15.00 dues prior to submission of this application.
