Please be advised that all Exchange Visitors will be permitted to enter the US no more than 30 days before the report/start date of their program listed on their DS-2019. All Exchange Visitors must report to the UC Merced Office of International Affairs and attend the International Student Orientation.
Individuals who have applied for a Waiver of the J-1 Two Year Home Residence requirement and received approval notification from the State Department or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and those who are substantially funded by personal or family funds are ineligible for J-1 student status.
