We have had officials start with youth football in New Mexico and make it a career all the way to the NFL level. If you are looking for a side job or a unique career path, this may be right for you.

If you answered yes to any of these background questions, Include the nature of the offense, charge, warrant or condition, the name and location of the arresting agency, and the date of any arrest.

This Independent Contractor’s Agreement is made by and between New Mexico Young America Football League, Inc (hereafter referred to as the “NMYAFL”), and a Football Official (hereafter referred to as (“Official”).

Whereas, the NMYAFL is a non-profit organization designed to provide recreational programs for youth of the community through football and cheerleading; and

Whereas, the NMYAFL wishes to associate certain officials as independent contractors to referee various NMYAFL games; and

Whereas, the Official represents and warrants that the official understands the importance of creating a positive experience for all players, coaches, and parents who participate in the NMYAFL;

NOW THEREFORE, be it agreed between parties as follows:

The NMYAFL hereby agrees to utilize the service of the Official as a football official in various NMYAFL games commencing in August and terminating with the playoff games in October.

The NMYAFL official shall be paid Forty Three Dollars ($43.00) per game for services as a Official as a tackle official. The NMYAFL Official shall be paid Forty Eight Dollars ($48.00) per game for services as a White hat for tackle games. The NMYAFL official shall be paid Thirty Three Dollars ($33.00) per game for services as a Official as a NM Flag official. The NMYAFL Official shall be paid Thirty Eight Dollars ($38.00) per game for services as a White hat for NNFL Flag games. The Official is an independent contractor and is responsible for all taxes owed on earnings. There is no employer/employee relationship intended or implied and the Official agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the NMYAFL of any claim or injury suffered by the official during the conduct of the Official’s duties as a referee at any event.

NMYAFL will pay the Officials within 10 days of officiating or upon verification of meetings attended and service provided by Official. The Official must have NMYAFL Field Commissioner NMYOA Crew Chief or NMYAFL representative verify the games officiated on a form provided for NMYAFL games.

The Official agrees to follow all rules and regulations set by NMYAFL.

The Official can purchase a uniform and equipment through NMYAFL. The Official will reimburse NMYAFL through Ref Pay and will not receive any compensation until their outstanding uniform invoice have been paid. Payment to the Official will resume after their uniform invoices have been fully paid through games played through Ref Pay.

The Official will report any ejections of any player, coach or parent in writing before leaving the park. The Official will notify the NMYAFL representative if he/she can’t make the Saturday scheduled times for officiating 48 hours in advance or find a substitute official.

This Independent Contractor’s Agreement may be amended from time to time in writing.
