PLEASE READ: Thank you for your interest in fostering with Underdog Animal Rescue! The key for our rescue group is to add long-term committed fosters, we cannot take on temporary fosters since we do not have a facility and are 100% foster and volunteer based. We do not care if you simply foster 1 dog a year or 30, each life saved counts and potentially saves several other dogs by opening up a kennel for a dog in need. If we place a dog with you and you are unable to commit to the dog, you will be responsible for paying up to 7 days of boarding while we coordinate another foster home to place the dog. We cannot promise any dog will be house or crate trained as different environments can bring out different habits. We do not cover any personal property that may be damaged during the dogs time in your care. This is of course very unfortunate, but we have seen all types of situations and we need to remind ourselves change is hard on everyone. We do ask you bring all concerns to our attention immediately so we can assist with best plan of action moving forward.

We are volunteer driven so as a foster you must be willing to set up meet and greets for your foster dog with potential adopters and be committed to fostering until the dog is adopted. We can assist you through this process and encourage you to utlize our foster network and private Facebook group for assistance. We cannot guarantee that each dog will be dog, cat or kid friendly so you must be willing to separate your foster dog and be patient with slow intros, etc.

We will cover all medical expenses and supplies needed that are preapproved. Any additional money spent on animal care, supplies, or possible remedy etc can be used a taxable donation at end of year and receipt may be provided upon request. All miles driven for supplies, vet and meets can also be used as a tax deduction if tracked, any further questions please consult a licensed CPA.

If you rent, you must show us a written letter from your landlord or a copy of the section of your lease stating that you are allowed to have dogs and showing any limitations.

If you live in a condo or townhome, you must show us written proof that you are allowed to have a dog there and show any restrictions.
