THIS PERMIT MUST BE IN YOUR POSSESSION WHEN BURNING

Thank you for obtaining a tribal burning permit. Below is a list of safety tips for burning. Please read and take in consideration of the following suggestions. This will help lower the amount of wildfires in our communities that threaten homes and natural resources.

·         Attend fire until completely extinguished

·         Don’t delay a call for help (Call the forestry office or PD)

·         Watch the wind (ABOVE 10 MPH DON'T BURN)

·         Watch for hazardous materials around burn are (Propane tanks, gas cans, slash piles, garbage, etc.)

·         Alternatives to burning (landfill, recycle, chipping, mulching, etc.)

·         Keep eye on children (Don’t let children start or play with fires)

Burning can be done each day between the hours of 6:00PM to 10:00AM.
Permit Agreement:*

I agree to use all possible care in keeping this fire under control and to assume responsibility for all damages which may result from burning done under this permit. The DNR shall have the right to revoke this permit at any time. When action is taken to revoke this permit such revocation shall take effect immediately. You are hereby granted permission to burn the above materials on the location as specified, during the times and dates noted. Please help us do our job safely and in a way that will benefit our entire tribal membership. Be careful with all of your fires, and watch that your children do not start or play with fires. If you have any more questions or comments, stop by the Red Lake Fire Center or call us at 679-3381. BURNING CAN BE DONE EACH DAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6:00PM to 10:00AM.
