Theme: Rails & Trails
Deadline Extended: February 17, 2017
The West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission invites accomplished and emerging artists, with a connection to the City of West Chicago or currently living in the Chicagoland area to submit up to three digital files of original art for consideration for the 2017 Community Banner Project. All media are welcome, with no limitation to technique or subject matter, as long as the theme revolves around Rails & Trails.
An entry is comprised of up to three JPEG images at 72 dpi measuring (h)7" x (w)5". All files should be numbered and named with the artist's last name and first name. Ex: 01Lastname_Firstname.jpg and submitted via this form.
Glenn Hansen, Professor of Photography at College of DuPage, will be the independent Juror for this year's exhibit and will select the final works of art anonymously.
If selected for inclusion in the West Chicago Community Banner Project Exhibition, the artist gives the City of West Chicago and the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission permission to use the selected image for publicity purposes related to this project.
Awards: A People's Choice Award will be presented to the artist who receives the most votes from the public. The award will consist of the artist's banner following its removal at the conclusion of the display in September. Also, among those who voted for the winning banner, a random drawing will be taken and the winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to Gallery 200.
