• Dazzle, BBC LLC Teacher Contract

  • This contract is made between person signed below referred to as the lead/ assistant/sub-teacher and Dazzle Creative Dance & Movement. This agreement is effective beginning the first day of assigned classes in July for terms of 12 months.

    Duties

    The teacher is contracted to teach and/or assist/sub as scheduled by Dazzle for the time period specified in this contact. Dazzle agrees to provide the facility, music, and teaching tools to teach classes. Teachers are responsible for starting and ending class on time. The teacher is also responsible for being professional. Teachers are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes before the first class start time to anticipate classroom set up.All teachers are expected to perform with students during the annual recital in June.

    Students

    All contracts with students at Dazzle Creative Dance & Movement shall be considered property of Dazzle. The teacher shall not offer or agree to teach current, prior or future Dazzle students outside of Dazzle or in any other manner than through lessons arranged by Dazzle. For the duration of the contract the teacher agrees not to teach dance or other similar lessons within a 15mile radius of Dazzle.  Teachers are not allowed to do any recruiting for other students as lined as Dazzle’s competition. This would be a conflict of interest. 

    Unless written permission is given, the teacher agrees not to contact the students, parents or guardians or any other party in connections with Dazzle students enrolled outside or lessons.

    The teacher shall not offer or agree to teach lessons in the student’s home or in the teacher’s residence. The teacher agrees not to solicit students within a fifteen mile radius of Dazzle

     

    Facility

    The teacher agrees to enter the premises only as required for his/her scheduled lessons,  or any other mutually agreed upon time, and that the facility is not to be used for his/her own recreational use.

    The teacher agrees to leave the facility in good order with all equipment and materials in their proper places. The teacher will report any incidents of the facility not being left in proper condition to a managing member of Dazzle immediately, no later than twenty four hours.

                                                                                                

    Off-Site

    Teachers who teach at off-site schools will be given a set of props for the purpose of teaching at a Dazzle Program site. Our tools and props and or curriculums are not designed for personal use and side work given. We will ensure that you have music and lesson plans to effectively teach.  Ensure that you are at least 20 minutes early to allow for traffic and to properly set up your class.

     

    Proprietary Dazzle Creative Dance & Movement Program Information and Confidentiality

    Methods and systems used as Dazzle are proprietary and are to be held in confidence and not be duplicated shared or copied for use outside of Dazzle. The teacher will observe the guidelines of the Teacher Information given to all teachers at the beginning of the contract term. Dazzle reserves the right to terminate this contract without written notice if any of the specified or implied terms are not met or if the teacher’s conduct or classes are unsatisfactory.

      Code of Conduct

    All Dazzle teachers are asked to present a high level of professionalism inside/outside the classroom and when dealing with parents. Participating in gossip, negative talk about the program, other students and parents is not allowed. If parents have any problems or questions always direct them to the owner and or business manager at all times,which include anything operational. Please never quote a fee of the program. Always direct them to the website, place a form or call the office. 

    Physical touch of the student must be presented to assist the child. Harsh pulling, hiting, and abrupt tones are not allowed. As a teacher, you are to motion the students with a light gesture to assist. If students become difficult to handle, please be sure the front desk contacts the guardian right away. 

     Please ensure to request another teacher ahead of time as you plan to be out. It is imperative that all teachers remain accountabile and available for the expected time chosen to teach. If a sub is needed to cover an absence, please be mindful and provide ample amount of time. Texting an hour before class is not appropriate. Be accountable and responsible at all times. If planning to be out, please give a notice for planning and preparation. 

     

    Background

    The teacher understands a background check may be performed and agrees to provide a copy of his/her driver’s license to Dazzle. If the background check provides information that indicates the teacher is not qualified to work with minors at Dazzle, then this contract is automatically null and void.

     

    Compensation

    All teachers will be compensated on the 15th of each month via an electronic transaction through Paypal. All teachers must set up a PayPal account for these purposes.  The teaching payment structure is set up as follows:  ten dollars per class to assist, fifteen dollars per class to co-teacher (2 teachers in the classroom), and thirty dollars for Lead Teaching and or Subbing without an assistant.  While every effort will be made by Dazzle to run classes according to the initial schedule provided, Dazzle cannot make any guarantee of enrollment being sufficient to run all classes or the number of hours of income.  This contract is a part-time opportunity and should not be counted as full time income.

     W-9

    All teachers will be required to complete a W-9 form. You will be sent a 1099 for taxes at the mail address on file.

     

    The teacher has read and understands this agreement and agrees to abide by the terms and policies.
