  • REQUEST FOR EXHIBITION GUIDELINES

Requests for exhibition are reviewed and approved by members of the Greater Denton Arts Council's Exhibition & Education committee. The committee, in conjunction with the Manager of Exhibitions and the Executive Director, reserves the right to revoke exhibition approval should the submitted work fail to meet GDAC gallery standards.

Please allow up to 6 months for your submission to be reviewed. Once a determination has been made concerning your request, you will be notified. Specific questions about the submission process may be addressed through the GDAC staff by calling (940) 382-2787 or by sending an email to caitlin.spencer@dentonarts.com.

If your work is selected for exhibition, you will be asked to sign and return an Exhibition Contract. Contracts not signed and returned within one month of the date on contract will be voided. Once an artist has been selected for an exhibition and assigned a gallery, the committee stops accepting applications for that space and time. The committee may, however, accept artists for a waiting list. Therefore, if a signed Exhibition Contract is not received within the allotted time, the committee will withdraw acceptance and offer the space to another artist.

    GALLERY SPACE

There are three galleries housed within the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. The Meadows Gallery is located on the west side of the building and typically exhibits national shows. The Gough Gallery is a smaller, more intimate space featuring regional artists located in the east wing of the center. Our largest space is our Festival Hall gallery which features rotating pop-up exhibitions. Each semester the Arts Council also exhibits works by North Texas artists at University of North Texas’ Murchison Performing Arts Center lobby. We now exhibit 2-D work at the Discover Denton Welcome Center's Access Art Alley on a quarterly basis.
