ABOUT THE LEIMAY SUBSIDIZED FELLOWSHIP:
LEIMAY’s New Subsidized Fellowship nurtures a half-year long creative and research process for 4 artists annually. It provides an arena for artistic exploration, professional development, and public outreach to a local community of movement-based artists with an interdisciplinary practice who seek a space to create and share their work in a supportive environment of fellow artists.
The LEIMAY Subsidized Fellowship provides artists with space to work alongside a community of peers who support each other through artistic feedback and an ongoing discussion about the value of process and practice as a means of nurturing collaboration and the advancement of craft within multiple fields. In addition, the Subsidized Fellowship provides artists with an opportunity to engage with communities outside of artistic circles or those of regular theater/gallery goers through the presentation of the Fellow’s work at one of the New York Restoration Project’s community gardens within the city’s five boroughs.
