• Project Application

Before completing the Berkeley Crowdfunding Application, you must review the Berkeley Crowdfunding Guidelines online.

Applications will be reviewed for approval. We are looking for compelling stories, dedicated teams (5 or more preferred), and individuals that aren't afraid to ask for money.

There are a limited number of spots available each round and we want projects that show the most potential for success.

    Application deadlines and important dates:

Crowdfunding Round Deadline to Apply Kick-off Call Campaign Launch
    Spring 2021 November 30  December 14 February 1

If this is your first time crowdfunding, you or someone on your team should plan to participate in the kick-off call and best practices training to prepare you for crowdfunding.

This application will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you are unable to complete this in one session, simply submit your form and you will receive an email notification with a link to return and edit. Select the option that you "need more time" toward the bottom of the application.

If you have any questions, contact calcrowdfunding@berkeley.edu.

Thank you for applying to Berkeley Crowdfunding. Good luck!

  • Setting a realistic goal is important!

Most projects are able to raise $5,000 or less. The majority of donors will come from your family, friends, and other personal networks. Do you know enough people that will donate to your project to reach your goal? The larger the team and the larger the networks, the more money you will be able to raise. Remember, it is important to set a realistic goal so that your campaign is successful. Start with the lowest goal possible - you can always add in stretch goals later.
  • Because you are requesting a goal over $10,000, you may be required to submit additional information to the Berkeley Crowdfunding team. They will contact you to discuss in more detail.
